At Schools Worldwide we offer exceptional overseas educational trips, carefully matched with your particular curriculum requirements, whether they have a biology bias, a team-building expedition and adventure focus or a need for historical enrichment. Take a look at five of our favourite destinations for 2018 and talk to us about how we can fulfil your requirements without a stick of rock in sight!
Namibia
With landscapes evoking sci-fi adventure and opportunities for abundant wildlife viewing, which teenager wouldn’t want to visit Namibia? Camp in and study the ancient rock formations at Spitzkoppe, climb vast dunes in the Namib Desert and visit wildlife-rich Etosha National Park. Namibia offers unparalleled ecological and biological study options combined with valuable community project work.
Morocco
A cultural world away yet just four hours by plane Morocco is an excellent first overseas trek destination. Create a bespoke expedition from the trekking pick-and-mix of the vast Atlas Mountains: the ascent of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, being the most challenging. Wild camp in Jebel Sahro, contrast the silence of Mgoun Gorge with the souks of Marrakech and watch the Atlantic rollers crash onto the beach at Essaouira.
Costa Rica
Attention all biologists. Ever dreamt of taking your classes to experience the amazing biodiversity of the ‘rich coast’? Our fieldtrek covers everything from visiting Tortuguero National Park, Monteverde and Braulio Carrillo Cloud Forests to planting an endemic tree. Learn about the effects of living in the Arenal Volcano Area and the sheer abundance of life across this beautiful country.
Croatia
For a shorter, energy-intensive activity trip Croatia is the choice. Canoe or raft down a stretch of the Mreznica River, swim and explore waterfalls before setting up riverside camp. Hike into the pristine Velebit Mountains, Croatia’s largest mountain range, to study the geology and abundant flora and fauna. Conclude by visiting the Roman sites and town of Zadar on the Dalmatian coast.
India
India can often be dimmed in the shadow of trekking magnet Nepal but the region of Ladakh contains over half of the Great Himalayan Range, and provides some equally impressive trekking. Combine a bespoke trek with some cultural, historical or religious education including visits to Agra, Delhi, Varanasi and Amritsar among others.
