Formed from sand bars, coral islands and rocky outcrops, the Exumas region of the Bahamas is the centre of diversity for the country and one of the most flourishing marine ecosystems in the Caribbean.

Sparsely populated and of pivotal importance, this string of islands has some of the greatest wildlife encounters in the Bahamas – both above and below the waves. With coral reefs, mangrove nurseries, land and sea parks, and a rich history filled with discovery, exploration, empires and piracy, there is plenty for students to experience.

Schools groups could find themselves walking on untouched beaches, swimming with pigs, snorkelling caves, diving with sharks, conducting research on different species and environments, experiencing the world of privateers and pirates, interacting with remote island communities, and cruising the waves as they sail through one of the most remote parts of the Caribbean.
