There are few towns in Europe that have been the centre of so many empires and civilisations, making Bitola an incredibly unique and diverse area for students to discover.

Whilst in Bitola, pupils are able to visit a huge range of different religious sites, particularly the town's blend of churches and mosques, which are arguably the finest way to uncover the vibrant history of this part of Macedonia. Heraclea Lyncestis is the original settlement, and the well-preserved ruins are one of the biggest historical attractions in the country. Originally founded by Philip II of Macedon and then ruled by the Romans before becoming a Byzantine hub and then the regional capital of the Ottoman Empire, Bitola is one of the most diverse parts of Macedonia which can be seen through its architecture, culture and cuisine.
