This project offers a fully immersive experience in Namibia and provides the opportunity to develop facilities within a community whilst engaging in cultural exchange.

  • Work with the local community to re-develop poorly maintained facilities to enhance education and recreation.
  • Research opportunities with the local community to develop lasting and beneficial school and recreational facilities.
  • Develop imaginative project ideas to enrich the learning environment for children in the local school.
  • Explore the options for cultural exchanges and lifestyle insights between your group and the community.

Whilst nearly 90% of the population is literate due to free compulsory education, funding for school development is extremely limited. Many classrooms consist of a simple room with a blackboard painted on to crumbling plaster. People in the community want to develop these facilities, but lack the funding.

Creating a positive and engaging school environment will help to unlock the imagination and learning potential of school pupils. Your group will work with the community to enhance school facilities and provide inspiration for future generations. Project tasks can include re-imagining classroom areas to repair damaged walls and floors and provide inspirational educational displays. Your group may also be involved in helping to develop outdoor recreational facilities to inspire play-based learning.
