Where beach meets rainforest, the Osa Peninsula on the Pacific coast is without doubt one of the wildest regions of Costa Rica. Still almost completely covered in rainforest, the ecological variety of Corcovado National Park is quite stunning. It is a great place to see scarlet macaws and is also a stronghold for the jaguar.

With forest landscapes dominating and then cascading into the sea, this region of Costa Rica is unlike any other. With very little development and no towns for miles in each direction, Corcovado National Park is undoubtedly a highlight of Costa Rica for those seeking wildlife encounters.

One of the last bastions for jaguars, and with 13 different ecosystems within its boundaries, the biodiversity of Corcovado is unparalleled in Central America. The picture-perfect beach stretches for 39 kilometres as the jungle looms above you on one side, and the Pacific Ocean encompasses the other.
