Teachers Area
Every school is different and we are proud to have a close working relationship with all our Lead Teachers. Over time, this has developed into a strong mutual confidence that affords us an instinctive approach to providing a unique itinerary, for every school that travels with us.
We want to get things right for you and being a tailor made company our knowledge and expertise allows us to draw from a select portfolio of destinations, to develop a broad variety of overseas trips, precisely to the expectations and abilities of each group.
There is little doubt that previous Lead Teachers have found it incredibly rewarding to see the development of their group outside of the classroom, before and after the trip, and we are certain that you will also benefit from the experience both personally and professionally.

Role of Lead Teacher
As a Lead Teacher, you will be the first point of contact at the school for us and your group, while in the UK. You will mainly need to collect and distribute the information we send you and help facilitate a few presentations. It is therefore likely that you may need to arrange meetings, whereby every group member attends and receives the correct information as you receive it from us.
While overseas you will be 'In Loco Parentis' and required to provide pastoral care for the group as necessary. If you hold the correct qualifications, it may be possible that you also become the qualified Group Leader, but this will need discussion and possibility the clearance of your Local Authorities.

Programme Support
We will provide you and your group with all the information required to prepare for such a trip, clearly and in advance, giving plenty of time to fully prepare for the trip.
For Lead Teachers, we have created a concise Teachers Guidance Pack, leading you through the entire programme, from the point of launching a trip through to your return. In providing this pack you will be able to monitor what happens next, what to expect from us and what we ask of you. You will also receive a comprehensive Lead Teachers Manual to take overseas, which you can refer to throughout your trip.
Once a trip is confirmed, we develop a micro-website dedicated to each group. This is accessible via our main website provides access for parents, pupils and teachers to all relevant trip information quickly and easily. As we upload new information to the site, group members will receive an email from us to letting them know that more information is available. The site includes three Tour Information Packs providing information about the destination, the itinerary, flights details, kit lists, inoculation advice, project pack, fundraising pack and fitness information. For teachers there is additional information regarding risk assessments and also consent forms for parents to download.
To satisfy the clearance needs of any authority, we are able to provide the relevant risk assessments and insurance documents in relation to your trip as well as the CRB and outdoor qualifications of your Leader.

Familiarisation Trips
As part of our commitment to ensuring you are fully introduced to our company and the destinations we visit, Schools Worldwide run Familiarisation Trips throughout the year for Teachers to experience some of the destinations we offer and get to know our in-country agents and the Group Leaders we employ. Run in small groups, the trips are intended to provide an open and honest introduction to the way we work with schools and the areas we visit.
We are finalising two Teachers Familiarisation Trips for 2010 and you can find all the information on the designated Familiarisation Trips page of this website.
