In order to apply to become a Group Leader you will need to hold a minimum of Summer Mountain Leader, travelled to various countries in the developing world and have previous experience in working with young people aged 14 - 18 yrs.

Your Role
Once overseas, as a Group Leader you will help to support your group to successfully complete their itinerary and continually re-asses their well-being and safety throughout the trip. You will also be representing Schools Worldwide as a company and are responsible for ensuring the trip upholds our ethos of 'Education by Experience'.

What we ask from you
Before departure you will need to provide us with proof of all relevant qualifications and be available to meet with your group prior to departure to run a training walk, as well as an evening presentation to meet with the parents.
While abroad you will have the "higher duty of care" and will be required to use your knowledge, training and expertise throughout the trip to ensure your group's safety is monitored at all times and never compromised. You will need to liase with our local suppliers to ensure that the itinerary runs as planned, ensure that all safety equipment that we provide is carried with the group and follow the overseas procedures for your trip as per the risk assessments and Leaders Manual.
Upon return you will be required to provide a full Leaders Report for the trip, as per our template and provide any additional information that we may request.

What you can expect from us
We will supply you with copies of all trip information that we send the group, provide details of your group's essential information, supply you with all safety equipment necessary for your itinerary, provide a comprehensive overseas First Aid Kit, provide guidance on our 24 hour back up procedure, run a briefing session on your trip prior to departure and support your decisions while overseas.

Safety is the No.1 priority of Schools Worldwide and we have teamed up with First Aid Academy to run two comprehensive residential First Aid Training courses to introduce, refresh or enhance the skills and abilities of Leaders travelling overseas.
