Red Dragons were educated by the experience!

Mount Toubkal, Morocco

Landing at Marrakesh Menara Airport the students from west Wales had their first hint of what lay ahead. They are embarking on a ten day expedition in Morocco, aiming to broaden their horizons and embrace the culture. The 10 students have spent 18 months raising funds to get to this point and only 1 of them has travelled outside of Europe before. Four of them have not left the UK and 1 has not even left Wales! Justin's Trip to Namibia!

The following days were spent constructing an adventure playground for the learners at Okaepe. This came with its challenges and called for some impromptu changes to the construction plans the group had made, however the improvisation and problem solving skills shown by the group were fantastic! Going into our final day there was still lots of work to be done, and the school wanted us to finish early as they had prepared a celebratory meal and dance. In order to help us meet this deadline the school's "handy man" and our driver (who also turned out to be a dab hand with a hammer!), chipped in to help out and as a result we finished with time to spare for an official handover of the playground! Schools Worldwide Annual Travel Conference

Our annual travel conference always proves to be highly enjoyable and beneficial for our leaders and teachers alike, and this year has been no exception! The morning was broken down into a series of small group workshops which are tailored towards individual trips. These were then followed by larger group presentations interspersed with informal group discussions to make the most of the huge knowledge base available through our leaders and more experienced teachers.
