Spain Biology Fieldtrek

Our Spain Biology Fieldtrek programme is based in the stunning Sierra Nevada mountain range, 30kms from the Mediterranean coast, in the region of Andalucia. The Sierra Nevada has been a National Park since 1999 and is also classified by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve. The park contains an exceptional level of biodiversity as well as varied landscapes and many fascinating traits of mankind's influence upon them which go back to ancient times. There are over 2000 recorded plant species in the Sierra Nevada, 66 of which are endemic, and a rich fauna of amphibians, reptiles, mammals, birds and insects. This richness in both species and habitat makes the Sierra Nevada an exciting place so see and study Biology in its element.
